Double digit dallying

It took seven weeks, but I was finally allowed to run a double digit workout.

What, you may ask, does one do with seven weeks while one waits for a double digit workout?  Good question.  This prudent preparation takes patience.  A quick google does reveal a few things you can do to pass the time.  A sampling:

1.  Blink wildly and then close your eyes really tight for an interesting light show

2. See how long you can hold a note

3. Try to not think about penguins

When these are finished, you can gargle, try and sound Welsh, or pick up a dog so it can see things from your point of view.

Well these things didn’t quite take the whole seven weeks but they did help.

Recap:

Week 1:    27.2 miles – avg wt 162, avg temp 32F.

Week 2:    23.7 miles – avg wt 163, avg temp 29F.

Week 3:    34 miles – avg wt 163, avg temp 32F.

Week 4:    36.7 miles – avg wt 160, avg temp 26F.

Week 5:    40.5 miles – avg wt 158, avg temp 22F.

Week 6:    33.2 miles – avg wt 158, avg temp 35F.

Week 7:    49 miles – avg wt 158, avg temp 32F.

The next milestone will come in two weeks when I run two double digit workouts during the week.  Until then, I’ll just enjoy the gentle climb.
